Case Study
Challenge: Each year, Portland Public Schools Foundation holds a major fundraising event to help fund and create awareness for local school programs. This annual event, called The Hacks vs The Flacks, pits local politicians against local news celebrities in a good-natured public roasting. Though highly popular in its early years, attendance for the event had been in decline.
Solution: Working with a freelance illustrator, the two of us developed a fun, eye-catching invitation that borrowed from the look and tone of popular children's author Dr. Seuss. Printing and postage for the piece were donated by civic-minded businesses.
Result: The invitation received creative recognition for its originality, and more importantly, drew a record number of attendees to the event. Portland Public Schools Foundation was able to reach its fundraising goal and help support vital school programs.
