Social Marketing
Unless you've been pulling a Rip Van Winkle the past several years, you have probably heard of "social marketing." In a nutshell, social marketing is marketing and advertising that is designed to reach current and potential customers via social networking websites such as MySpace, Bebo and Facebook. These messages appear at at
the edges of users’ profiles and can be targeted based on keywords in
their profiles to match their stated interests or recent activities, demographic details, or by their geographic location. Social marketing also extends to the use of Fan Pages that allow marketers to promote products, services and events by way of various social networks.
